“20/20” is a reply I have heard many times, which is good (I am all for healthy eyesight!) but is not really what I want to hear when speaking to a Director, CEO or CIO. I would prefer to hear, either, “we haven’t got one” or “yes we have, and its ‘X’, ‘Y’ and ‘Z’.
The vision for an organisation is so important. It can take time to do (it’s not as easy as it can often sound) but, it is time well spent, because, once you have that, then everything else, if managed effectively, will fall into place.
Once you have a vision, you can build a strategy, one that is outcome-based and defines where you are now, where you want to be and, most importantly, how you’re going to do it.
If you want to learn more about how important a vision is to your organisation, don’t hesitate to drop me a line.
